The SMARTA Predictability Immersion
Predictability creates possibility. September 25, 2026 · Align HQ, San José, Costa Rica · Limited to 20 Orthodontists
What You Walk Away WithOne template. One system. Endless predictability.
The SMARTA Predictability Immersion is built around three pillars — and you leave with all three working together in your practice.
IPP Automation.
Your Invisalign Personalized Plan, standardized for speed, consistency, and accuracy. Dr. Baird personally reviews and refines your IPP during the day.
Staging Optimization.
Tooth movement and staging tuned for control and predictable outcomes — fewer refinements, fewer reworks.
Efficient CAD Communication.
A direct working session with the Align CAD team and IPP coding specialists, so the cases that come back match your clinical intent.
Plus a completed SMARTA IPP workbook, real-time coaching from Dr. Sam Lee and Dr. Marta Baird throughout the immersion day, and a planning system you can implement Monday morning.
This program is designed for orthodontists who are already using Invisalign and want the system that makes their cases predictable — fewer additional aligners, longer appointment intervals, more virtual care, and a workflow that runs without constant troubleshooting.
Participants are required to complete the ClinCheck Treatment Plan module (about 4 hours) before attending. It's included with your registration — no extra cost or separate enrollment.
The ClinCheck Treatment Plan module is one section of the full SMARTA Online Course (12 hours), which covers the broader practice predictability system. The full course is encouraged for doctors who want to go deeper→ SMARTA Online Course

Talk With the SMARTA Team
What is the SMARTA Predictability Immersion?
A one-day, in-person training at Align Technology Headquarters in Costa Rica, where 20 orthodontists work directly with Dr. Marta Baird, Dr. Sam Lee, and the Align CAD team to build the system that makes Invisalign cases predictable — fewer additional aligners, longer appointment intervals, more virtual care. You leave with a completed Invisalign Personalized Plan (IPP) workbook and a planning system you can implement immediately.
When and where is it?
Friday, September 25, 2026, at Align Technology Headquarters in San José, Costa Rica.
Who is teaching?
Dr. Marta Baird and Dr. Sam Lee, with direct access to the Align CAD team throughout the day.
How many doctors are in the cohort?
The program is intentionally limited to 20 orthodontists to keep the experience hands-on and personalized.
I've been an Invisalign provider for many years — will this still be worth my time?
Absolutely, and frankly the longer you've been in practice, the more you tend to get out of it. Most attendees are 10–15 years in (some are 40+ years). The Immersion is about layering a predictability system on top of the IPP you already have — automating how your cases are set up and tightening how you communicate with the CAD team, so treatment tracks the way you intend. Dr. Baird personally reviews every attendee's IPP and walks you through recommended changes during the day. You'll also meet with the CAD team to discuss your last 6 months of staging comments and find clearer ways to communicate them.
How much does it cost?
What's included?
What's not included?
How do I register?
Apply through the form at smartaorthosolutions.com. After your application is reviewed, you'll receive a link to pay a $1,000 deposit to secure your seat. The remaining balance is due by June 1, 2026.
What is the refund and cancellation policy?
Do I need to complete anything before arriving?
Yes. The ClinCheck Treatment Planning Module is required viewing before the Immersion — about 4 hours of content. It's included with your registration, so there's no extra cost or separate enrollment. The Immersion applies that material; it doesn't teach it. Doctors who arrive prepared walk away with a completed IPP.
Is there more to the SMARTA Online course?
Yes. The full SMARTA Online course is 12 hours and covers the broader systems — practice management, AA tracking, GCP, the full IPP framework, and more. Only the 4-hour ClinCheck Treatment Planning Module is required for the Immersion; the rest of the course is available separately for doctors who want to go deeper.
What does the schedule look like?
What is the Saturday excursion?
A three-in-one trip — a volcano, a coffee plantation, and a walk to a waterfall, with lunch included. It's optional and requires an extra hotel night. Custom quotes go out after June 1.
Where is the hotel?
Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belén — a resort and spa, about a 15-minute walk to Align HQ.
Do I need a passport or visa?
Yes, US travelers need a valid passport. No visa is required for stays under 90 days. Confirm your passport is valid through the duration of your trip.
What's the weather like in late September?
Late September is Costa Rica's green (rainy) season — warm, with temperatures in the mid-70s to low 80s°F and afternoon rain showers most days. Pack a light rain jacket and quick-dry layers.
What currency is used?
The local currency is the Costa Rican colón, but US dollars are widely accepted at the hotel and most tourist spots. Credit cards are accepted nearly everywhere.
Can I bring my spouse?
Yes — most attendees do. There's no additional fee for a spouse to join the base program (hotel and group dinners are included). Additional fees only apply if your spouse joins the optional Saturday excursion or the extra Saturday hotel night.
Are spouses welcome at the group dinners?
Yes. Thursday and Friday dinners are open to spouses.
What do spouses do during the Friday course day?
The Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belén is a full resort and spa, with a pool, spa, restaurants, and grounds — plenty to enjoy at the property during course hours.
Are kids welcome?
This is an adult-focused program. Kids are not part of the planned schedule.
What's the dress code?
What should I bring to the course?
Just yourself. The SMARTA IPP workbook and all course materials are provided. Important: laptops and phones are not permitted inside Align HQ. Plan to leave them at the hotel.
Will we get a tour of the Align manufacturing facility?
A facility tour isn't part of this trip. The program is held at Align HQ, which is where the CAD designers and IPP teams you'll be working with are based — that collaboration is the focus of the day.
